We have the answers and
outcomes you need to be a better swimmer!
Why enrol at Swim Mechanix?
With passionate Instructors who undergo regular up skilling and industry training, our swim school is growing, not only in clients, but also in reputation. Our advertising is 90% word of mouth which certainly says something!
Our facility is fully enclosed with changerooms attached to the pool area and additional changerooms are just a little way down the hall if needed.
What do I bring to lessons?
All swimmers must wear suitable bathers and bring a towel, change of clothes, thongs/shoes, goggles, their Swim Mechanix issued swim cap and a water bottle.
Parents participating in baby & toddler classes are encouraged to wear a loose fitting t-shirt over bathers.
All infants & toddlers MUST wear a disposable or reusable swim nappy each time they are in the pool. Regular nappies are not suitable.
How long will my child be in this level?
All children learn at their own rate and progress differently.
Infant & Toddler lessons are catagorised into similar age ranges within 6 months of each other. The ages determine which strand they are within the Royal Life Saving Infant Aquatics program. They will progress through the levels as they get older. Infant Aquatic Stages can be found at https://royallifesavingwa.com.au/programs/infant-aquatics/levels
Preschool & School aged children will move levels once they have achieved the specific skills as per their Instructor's Swim & Survive assessment sheets. For consistency, we like to see children be successful at a skill 3 times per lesson over 3 lessons. On average, children may spend 2 to 3 terms in the same level. All children will receive a certificate of attainment once the level is achieved. Swim & Survive Stages can be found at https://royallifesavingwa.com.au/programs/swim-and-survive/levels
What if my child is sick?
Firstly, that's terrible, we hope that they recover soon.
Unfortunately, we do not offer credits or refunds for missed classes, however, if we have a similar level class on a different day with space available, a make up lesson may be offered. This is not a guarantee though as we are very often at capacity with most classes.
My child has a severe illness/accident
We can offer credits towards consecutive "terms" of lessons in cases where an extended period of time is required away from lessons due to severe illness or an accident that requires ongoing treatment. Please contact Liz in these cases.
We're going away on a holiday and will miss some classes
Booking a place in our swim school often means someone else misses out. We do not offer a reduced fee or credits for the time away so please consider your options when looking to enrol.
How do I enrol?
Enquiries and enrolments are available via email using the Contact Us page.
Cancellation of classes may occur when unforeseen circumstances arise. We will do our best to notify you ahead of time and provide you with either a replacement lesson or credit via email soon afterwards. For this reason, please notify us if your contact details change - Mobile phone number & email address.
While both parents are encouraged to participate and watch their children in lessons, Infant & Toddler lessons require only 1 parent in the water during class. Parents are most welcome to take turns each week if they choose to.
Withdrawal from the program must be received in writing at least 2 weeks prior to the start of the next Term.
Spectators are welcome to attend but please note that we can not accommodate everyone. Keep noise to a minimum on deck so that your children can learn without distraction.
Photography of your child during class is permitted, however these can not be used for any publicity or internet use due to Privacy laws in Western Australia. Failure to comply with this legislation may result in a total ban on deck of electronic equipment including mobile phones. Please note that Videography during classes is not permitted at all.
