Additional Needs Lessons
Welcome to our lessons for learners with Additional Needs.
We are dedicated to providing a supportive and inclusive environment where individuals with diverse abilities can learn to swim at their own pace.
Our qualified and experienced teachers focus on tailored techniques that cater to each swimmer’s unique needs, ensuring a positive and enjoyable experience in the water.

Additional Needs 1:1 Private Lessons
Some learners with additional needs require individually supported 1:1 lessons once they are over the age of 4 and moving towards independent lessons.

Our Adapt Mechanix program builds important skills such as waiting, safe entries and timed breathing allow for independent swimming skills to develop with the 1:1 support of a teacher.
Additional Needs 1:2 Private Lessons
As children move through their learning experience and become safer in the water, we can look at transitioning them into a 1:2 Adaptive lesson with a learner of similar ability where social and behavioral skills can be practiced.

Moving to Group Lessons
​When ready, and if appropriate, learners will transition to an Adapt Mechanix group of 3 students or mainstream group of up to 4 students.
How to enrol
Learners from 4 years of age up to 15 with additional needs are able to book Additional Needs 1:1 Private Lessons as part of our Adapt Mechanix program.
Check with your NDIS plan manager about covering the gap payment between our mainstream group lessons and private lesson fees. If you require a letter of recommendation to help with receiving funding towards this program, please send us your completed Enrolment Form so we can learn about your swimmer.

These sessions are offered after group lessons in the afternoons during quieter and more relaxed times making it beneficial for the learner and Instructor.
